Actress Lakshmi Rai, who came more into the limelight after rumours romantically linked her to Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has rubbished a report published in a Tamil daily that she flew to Mumbai from Chennai to console the Indian cricket skipper after the Indian team was ousted from the T20 World Cup.
“Though I was deeply upset by India’s exit from the T20 World Cup, I didn’t break down into tears as reported. Neither did I fly to Mumbai to meet Dhoni to talk to him and console him. It’s nothing but a figment of the media’s imagination. I just sent a consoling message to Dhoni. That’s all. Actually, I’m too busy to have time for such things,” the actress was quoted as saying.
Lakshmi Rai is currently busy with three Tamil films: Vaamanan, Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam and Naan Avanillai 2 (a sequel to Naan Avan Illai (2007). She recently signed a Telugu film titled Fight, to be directed Krishna Vamshi with Ravi Teja as the hero. The actress is now on Cloud Nine following the tremendous success of her recent To Harihar Nagar (Malayalam) and Dhaam Dhoom (Tamil).
