
Director Sasi has been getting through endeavors of making quality films in Kollywood. However, he has been rewarded for his best spell on ‘Poo’ on the criteria of Best Director at Ahmedabad International Film Festival.
The film produced by Dhananjayan of Moser Baer had Srikanth and Parvathi in lead roles. Exceptionally crafted on terms of narration, the film had won appreciations at various film festivals. POO was screened on the first day of the Ahmedabad International Film Festival on 26th June and on 28th the festival concluded and the Best Film and Director Awards were announced.
Maari (Parvathi) and Thangarasu (Srikanth) are cousins who have great affection for each other right from their childhood. Later, Thangarasu fleets to Chennai for his graduation in Mechanical Engineering while Maari keeps working in a fireworks manufacturing industry down there in the same village. On his return to village, Maari likes to express her feelings for Thangarasu and of course he gets to know about her love and affection for him. But things don’t happen as they had thought for Thangarasu’s father fondly called as Penakarar (he uses his son’s pen that was won at school) arranges his marriage with his owner’s daughter. How things proceed on from now forms crux of the story.
