After numerous rumors of Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028 heading for a Bollywood remake, The producer of Highly acclaimed Lunchbox Vivek Rangachari has just officially confirmed the Bollywood remake. The producer revealed that the remake was titled as Kirkit and will be made under DAR Motion Pictures. Here is what he had to say on the prestigious project.
“Yes, we are remaking a Tamil film ‘Chennai 600028′ in Hindi. The film has gully cricket as the backdrop. It’s a very youth-centric film and the film is tentatively titled ‘Kirkit’ Bejoy is co-producing the film with us and it will be directed by Yazad, who worked as an assistant director with Bejoy in ‘David’..The film will have a bunch of newcomers. We shot a few portions during ‘Dahi Handi’ as we needed those scenes for the film. Now, from the fourth week of September, the next schedule will start.”
Another interesting buzz on the remake is that Anirudh Ravichander has been approached for scoring music for this Bollywood flick. Watch this space for the official confirmation.
