Rose Venkat-esan, the first sexchanged transgender, who hosted a TV show, is wielding the megaphone for a movie, titled Cricket Scandal. Rose will be playing the female protagonist as a club dancer and debutant Kishan Ramachandran will be seen as her pair in the role of a cricketer.
Talking about her maiden venture, she says, “I made my script, based on the world of cricket, and all the controversies in it much before the spot-fixing scandal at IPL came to the surface. I met numerous people, connected with cricket betting and collected all the relevant details before venturing into it.” Ask her which team she is referring to here, pat she replies, “I have not attacked any particular individual in my film. I have named this match as Intelligent Major League (IML).
The Chennai team is termed as Chennai Top Princess’. Kishan plays Vishwanath, the captain of the team. I am Jasmine in the film. It is about the relationship between Jasmine and Vishwanath and how they expose the scandal to the world.” Rose says that she has also touched upon the problems faced by the transgender community. The audio was recently launched with Gana Bala’s number on match fixing, the lyrics too penned by him being the highlight.
