Deepika Padukone, the heroine of superstar Rajnikanth’s upcoming 3D animation venture Kochadaiyaan, has termed the film as ‘international’ in nature. Kochadaiyaan also marks the directorial debut of Soundarya, the younger of Rajni’s two daughters.
Deepika was roped into play Rajni’s heroine in the period-flick Rana whose muhurat was held in Chennai more than a couple of years ago. Rajni fell ill the same evening and subsequently had to be hospitalized at Singapore. The ‘jinxed’ Rana, which was to be directed by KS Ravikumar, hasn’t yet been re-started. Rajni sought Deepika as heroine in Kochadaiyaan apparently to compensate her as Rana wasn’t happening.
Kochadaiyaan would be releasing simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and English versions. As the film is released in English worldwide, in a way, it marks Deepika’s entry into Hollywood. “The visual effects and other technical aspects in Kochadaiyaan have come out very well and such visual treat has never been witnessed in any Indian film as on date,” she said.
“It’s a truly international film and I’m proud to be a part of it,” gushes Deepika. It is, meanwhile, reported that the theatrical trailer of Kochadaiyaan is ready to be released. The makers are said to be waiting for a ‘nod’ from Rajni who is said to be going through a ‘bad phase’ astrologically due to which he has decided to hold back the release of trailer as well as the theatrical release of the film.
The film is likely to release later this year and it remains to be whether or not it would coincide with Rajni’s 63rd birthday falling on 12th December.
