Rajni Sir is the only superstar in the globe, asserts Shahrukh Khan…
For some reasons, Bollywood’s ‘King’ Khan has become a great fan of our own superstar Rajinikanth. Shah Rukh Khan, was in Chennai last week for promoting his upcoming Hindi film Chennai Express which has Kochadaiyaan heroine Deepika Padukone playing his love interest in the role of a South Indian (Tamil) girl.
The script of Chennai Express has Chennai and Tamil Nadu as its backdrop and fittingly enough, SRK held the meet-the-press in Chennai. Speaking to reporters, SRK said “My mother was born in Hyderabad while Deepika hails from Bangalore. Satyaraj, who has starred in the film, is from Tamil Nadu. Most of the technicians and artistes in the film are from the South. All the South Indians including me have come together in making a Hindi film!.I have lot of friends in Tamil Nadu. Ajith is a good friend of mine and Mani Ratnam and Santosh Sivan are also good buddies,”
Deepika was at a loss of words when a reporter asked her as to whom she felt best among the two superstars she had worked with: was it Rajinikanth or SRK?
Even as Deepika hesitated briefly before replying, SRK took the mike from her and said “Deepika can’t answer this question; let me do it. There is only one superstar all over the globe and it’s only Rajini Sir. Everybody knows it; I felt amazed at the huge number of fans Rajini has in Japan. I had an opportunity to celebrate ‘Rajini Style’ so as to honour the unique person which Rajini is.
“The lungi dance in Chennai Express is dedicated to him and his fans. Though the song doesn’t have any great relevance in the context of the script, it’s my piece of dedication to Rajini Sir which has given me immense satisfaction,” concluded SRK.
