The trailer of Selvaraghavan‘s long in the making Irandam Ilagam was finally released today morning and the response to the trailer has been really positive. The hard work that has gone into the movie is evident particularly in the visual effects department, though they look a bit too obvious and flashy at places. The top class cinematography by Ramji, the costumes, the art work and the attention to detail are also evident.
The trailer proclaims that the movie is a story which spans two worlds and that love is the common emotion which binds both. “How Far Will You Travel For Love?”, asks Selvaraghavan through Irandam Ulagam.
Forever pretty Anushka has put in a lot of effort in the stunts too, while Aarya‘s work in making his body look its brutal best, is also evident. Both the stars have two distinct makeovers with Aarya apparently going the extra mile for his role in the ‘other world’. His beastly, rugged, long-haired make-over for this avatar is sure to win accolades. The last shot of the trailer, revealing bruises and scars in his body, is truly chilling.
We are also presented some really dangerous animals in the ‘other world’ and the imagination of the team is interesting. You might be reminded of those weird looking animals from Avatar’s Pandora.
Harris Jayaraj takes the cake for having made the best impact and really lifting the trailer several notches with his inspired background score. The Gregorian-type chants, the soothing male vocal harmonies and the apt usage of the orchestra befits the movie’s stature and theme.
We are really waiting for the movie’s release now.
