Considered to be one among the top league of actresses in K town, Anushka Shetty is living up to her name and making sure that she maintains her stronghold as the most popular South Indian heroine.
Having proved her mettle in performance based roles like Arundathi, this svelte beauty has been roped into two simultaneous period flicks, which will soon see their releases in the Tamil and Telugu bilingual – Rudhramadevi and Tamil, Telugu and Hindi trilingual – Baahubali.
On the sets Rudhramadevi – a directorial from Gunasekhar, Anushka looked at her sculpted best impressing one and all. She left onlookers amazed, clad in an attire resembling Rani Rudhramadevi of Kakatiya dynasty, trimming her weight by 5 -7 kilos , a result of her strenuous sessions at the gymnasium and the extreme yoga workouts.
Presently undergoing a strict weight regime to withstand the intense warfare athleticism, Anushka was supposed to finalize the shoots with filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s – Baahubali, based on the life of King Prithviraj Chauhan of Rajput dynasty.
Unfortunately, she could not make it to the meeting, preceding the shoots, as now she is victim to an intense back pain and undergoing physiotherapy post the highly demanding and rigorous shoot schedules of Rudhramadevi. Let us hope she has a speedy recovery.
Anushka asked to shed Weight for ‘Rudhramadevi’!
Southern actress Anushka, who is busy shooting for upcoming Telugu period-drama “Rudhramadevi“, is expected to shed as much as 15 kg for her role in the film.
“She (Anushka) has been advised to shed at least 10 to 15 kg for the film. In the next two months, she will undergo a strict weight regime to perfect the look for the film,” a source from the film’s unit told SouthDreamz.com.
Anushka, however, will not lose too much of weight.
“She has another period flick lined up. It is important that the weight loss is under control. To ensure that she stays in shape, she will spend more time on yoga than on physical workout,” the source added.
“Rudhramadevi” is being directed and produced by Gunasekhar, and Anushka will essay the role of Rani Rudhramadevi of Kakatiya dynasty.
The film features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Aditi Chengappa, Vikramjeet Virk, Nathalia Kaur, Hamsa Nandhini, Prakash Raj, Baba Sehegal, Krishnam Raju, Ahuti Prasad, Jayaprakash Reddy and Adithya Menon.
Ilayaraja will compose the music for the film, which will have cinematography by Ajay Vincent.
Meanwhile, Anushka will soon start working on Telugu period-drama “Baahubali” with filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
