Sana Khan, who was recently in the news for reportedly ‘kidnapping’ a minor girl whom she wanted to get married off to a distant relative, has finally opened up on the issue. She has said that contrary to reports in the press, she never ‘absconded’ and was very much following her daily routine of taking part in shooting schedules and attending to other daily chores.
It was reported in the press that the Mumbai police was ‘hunting’ for Sana Khan after the mother of a 15-year old girl filed a complaint stating that Sana had ‘kidnapped’ her daughter with the intention of getting her married off to a relative of hers. It was also said that Sana had filed a petition with a Mumbai Court seeking anticipatory bail in this case.
Talking to newspersons, Sana said “I never absconded and there was never any need for me to do so. I have been following my daily routine and have been taking part in shooting schedules and other programmes. As far as the ‘kidnap’ is concerned, the girl’s mother told me she was a huge fan of mine and that she wanted to meet me in person.
“When I was talking to my cousin brother in an ice-cream parlour, the lady asked me to talk to her daughter. If the girl in question had any issue with my brother, why should they come to meet and talk to me at all? I’m sure the CCTV at the parlour would have recorded what happened there on that day. I’d again like to reiterate that my job is not to ‘Kidnap’ girls and arrange for marriage. I never felt the need to do so; this is the truth!” Sana concluded.
