Malayalam movies have over the years found its share of remakes in Tamil and neighboring industries.
Very recently the new generation wave in Malayalam cinema has found an increasing demand for remakes as takers are flooding from all over India. The latest entrant to the list will be director Aashiq Abu’s 22 Female Kottayam that was a shocking tale but yet a project that was well accepted by the Mollywood audiences.
In fact, many who saw the movie claimed it to be fresh despite the vengeance and violence the movie brings forth through its well knit script, showcasing the life of a nurse who is victimized by immigrant agents as she seeks a career upgrade to settle in Canada.
Heading the discussion’s for its Tamil version is yesteryear actress, Sripriya, who was at her best with a string of release since her debut in 1973, to the first half of the 80′s. Last seen as an actress in Kannamoochi Yenada (2007), she hopes to wield the megaphone for this movie.
For the same, Mollywood’s angel face Nithya Menon has been offered the role. It would make for a perfect chance for Nithya Menon, who is looking to bounce back and treat her audience with a stellar performance, reprising Rima Kalingal – who plays the nurse and subsequent victim in the original version. Presently filming for JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai she is yet to give her word for the role as we wait for an official announcement from her representative.
