In what can only be termed as an amazing development, Ravinder Chandrasekaran’s Libra Productions is presently producing as many as five films. These films are in various stages of production and Ravinder has already launched his sixth production venture too and has named it as Mr. & Mrs. Kalyanam.
Amalraj would be directing the film which has director Karu Pazhaniappan essaying the lead role. Karu debuted as hero with Mandhira Punnagai opposite Meenakshi alias Pinky Sorcar. A hunt is on to choose Karu’s heroine and other artistes to star in the film.
Some of Ravinedr’s films on the floor include Nalanum Nandhiniyum, Sutta Kathai and Kolai Nokku Paarvai. Among them, the audio-launch of Nalanum Nandhiniyum and Sutta Kathai are scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland in the last week of this month. This might be the first time that the audio-launch of a Tamil film is being as far away at a country in Europe.
Says Ravinder: “More often than not, the small budget films don’t manage to reach the Tamil-speaking populace in foreign countries. By launching the audio of two of our films from Geneva, we are just making an earnest attempt within our limitations to ensure that these films find a wider audience. Like me, there are innumerable number of NRIs who love watching Tamil films.
“My effort has also inspired many of my friends to turn film producers. Film-related functions such as audio-launches, when held abroad, would serve in bringing many wealthy investors to invest in making Tamil films in future.”
He does hold a valid point here.
