Sivakarthikeyan, the Vijay TV programme host who turned hero in Kollywood with last year’s Marina, has gradually grown in stature as an actor.
Over the past fifteen months or so, Sivakarthikeyan has had 4-5 films of him releasing. This year, he has already had two success stories in Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and Ethir Neechal.
Delivering back-to-back hits in the past two months has certainly done a great deal to Siva’s market value as a rising hero. A few weeks back, on the eve of the release of Pandiraj’s Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Siva addressed a press-meet when he claimed that he had only been getting his fee in lakhs and hadn’t breached the Re.1 crore barrier as his fee per film.
Now, he can’t claim so as his recent successes have helped him register a deep hike in his fee per film.
Reports say that he now gets Rs.2 crores per film. He has now taken up Madan’s new film and untitled films produced by Gnanavelraja’s Studio Green and Lingusamy’s Tirupathy Brothers. His fee has been fixed at Rs.2 crores per film for all these three films and he has also been paid the ‘advance’ amount for these projects.
Further, Siva is also starring in Ethir Neechal director Durai Senthilkumar’s next venture which is again to be produced by Dhanush.
Among all these projects, Durai’s film is likely to take off first. Needless to say, his fee for this film is also Rs.2 crores. Critics feel that even if two of these four films click at the box-office, Siva’s stature in the industry and his fee per film would go up by several notches!
