Actress Shruti Hassan is very different from her illustrious father and Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan when it comes to religion and devotion to the Almighty. While Kamal Hassan speaks about ‘rational thinking’ and the non-existence of God despite born into and brought up in an orthodox Brahmin family, Shruti Hassan is the typical God-fearing girl who frequently visits temple.
Shruti Hassan, who sings songs, writes lyrics and composes music, has been concentrating mainly on her acting career for the past 18 months. To her dismay, both her Tamil films (7am arivu and 3) have not done well at the box-office but she is in the middle of a good spell both in Tollywood and Bollywood.
She recently visited the Chilkur Balaji Temple(popularly known as Visa God) near Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and spent quite some time inside the temple’s premises. She performed pradarshanam (going around the temple’s premises) 108 times, a ritual which is usually performed by devotees as a means of saying ‘thanks’ to the Almighty after fulfillment of their wishes. She had been here before her Gabbar Singh release too.
Nobody knows for sure as to what was Shruti Hassan’s wish this time and what for she offered the thanksgiving ritual. Unless she comes out with an explanation, we can only keep guessing!
