Anushka, Rana Daggubati, Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Baba Sehgal, Nathalia Kaur and Hamsa Nandini have been already roped for the project.
The latest entrant to the long list is Southern hottie Aditi Chengappa (Thakita Thakita fame).
“Just signed director Gunasekhar‘s ‘Rudhramadevi‘. Can’t think of a better way to get back into Telugu films. Woohoo! Here I come,” revealed the actress, who will be playing the role of Ganapamba (sister of Rani Rudramadevi played by Anushka).
‘Rudhramadevi‘ narrates the story of one of the most prominent women rulers of Kakatiya dynasty. Gunasekhar is directing and producing this mega project and a budget of Rs 40 crore have been allotted.
Trade pundits says, Gunasekhar is taking a huge risk by investing Rs 40 crore on a woman centric film, reminding the fact that a celluloid wonder like Arundathi was created with just Rs 13 crore.
‘Rudhramadevi‘ is the last opportunity for this creative director to bounce back as all his films in the past few years have bitten dust.
