Exchanges and inspirations from one film town to another is the norm of the day, but on the plus side, the whole nation gets to enjoy choicest excellent scripts cinematographed to perfection.
The latest to join the list is the exchange from the Kollywood to Bollywood, Vijaykanth‘s ‘Ramana‘.
The sensational movie was acquired by the acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bansali for remake; however, instead of helming the movie himself, he had handed over the responsibility to the director who helmed the original, AR Murugadoss.
But, AR Murugadoss had turned down the offer, and with the result, the project has now fallen in the hands of director Krish, who is famous for his Tollywood blockbusters, especially ‘Vedham‘, which was remade in Tamil as ‘Vaanam‘.
The Bollywood remake project, of ‘Ramana‘, is titled ‘Gabbar‘ and has Akshay Kumar in the lead. It is worth mentioning that ARM is directing ‘Pistol’, which is a remake of his ‘Thuppaki‘ in Tamil, with the same Akshay Kumar in the lead.
Ileana in ‘Ramana’ Remake?
We already reported that the Kollywood blockbuster, AR Murugadoss‘s ‘Ramana‘ is to be remade in Hindi, with Akshay Kumar in the lead. Now, we hear that Ileana is likely to be cast in the female lead role.
Speaking to her spokesperson revealed “Ileana has signed a couple of projects – one with Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, but the details of the projects have not been finalized yet. She is currently listening to stories from the B-town.” The source added that she has just wrapped up shooting with Shahid Kapoor for ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero‘.
On the other hand, here’s what the director of the remake project, Krish, has to say: “I have not finalized the rest of the cast yet. I do not know from where and how these speculations sparked off. ‘Gabbar‘ is likely to go on the floors only in the last quarter of this year.” Krish is famous in Tollywood for his ‘Vedham‘, and its Tamil remake ‘Vaanam‘.
The director is currently working on a Telugu project titled ‘Shivam‘, with Mahesh Babu and Sonakshi Sinha.
