Siblings and celebrated actresses Ambika and Radha have jointly opened a posh hotel at Puliyarai at Tamil Nadu’s border with Kerala, a State from which both the sisters hail.
The multi-storeyed hotel was inaugurated in an auspicious manner with Chithalangarai ‘Thavachittar’ Sri Ramamurthy Swamigal lighting the traditional ‘Kuthuvilakku’ to mark the hotel’s inauguration.
Situated on the Shenkottai–Kollam Main Road, the 17th hotel belonging to the sisters was inaugurated in a grand manner. After the Swamigal, Ambika too lit the traditional lamp. The location of the hotel has been so strategically decided so as to cater to the needs of film crews, who shoot at the nearby Tirunelveli and surrounding localities, to stay at the hotel during the period of the shooting schedules.
Radha already runs the very popular Spa resort, Uday Samutra Leisure Spa resort in Kovalam along with many restaurant bars in Mumbai.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the function, Ambika revealed that she was making a film in association with her brother Suresh. “The film has been titled as Nizhal in Tamil and as Anbella in Malayalam.
We are planning to release the film, which has an entire cast of newcomers, very soon in both the languages. Suresh had undergone a course in film-making in California and has also played hero in Malayalam films such as Neelathamarai and En Ishtam Nin Ishtam.
“The film has been jointly made by me and my brother and would be a thriller. Indhu, who won the ‘Miss Kerala’ beauty pageant last year, has been cast as the heroine opposite Kishore, who had served as a Major in the Indian army. More than 90% of the film has been shot without the assistance of cameraman wherein the actors have the shot the sequences among themselves. It’s also the first film to be made in South India using the ‘Point of view’ technique,” informs Ambika.
