Radha, one of the most successful actresses in Tamil and Telugu films in the eighties and early nineties, has regretted that she could never get an opportunity to shake a leg or two with dancing legend Prabhu Deva, widely considered as the country’s best male dancer.
Radha was recently on Vijay TV where she was among the panel of judges on a dance reality show along with veteran Saroja Devi and Ramya Krishnan. The dancers danced to songs from the seventies.
Speaking at the show, Radha said “It was a memorable experience to have starred in many films opposite superstar Rajnikanth. Rajadhi Raja was particularly significant for me as I matched Rajini to some extent in displaying my own style.
“Kamal Sir used to go one step further than what the dance choreographers would teach us. I could never match steps with him but somehow managed. Though I have starred in many films and featured in many songs, I have a deep regret: I never got to dance alongside Prabhu Deva, the best dancer in the country. I regret that I never got to do so,” she said.
Radha also had a few words of appreciation for her contemporary ‘Silk’ Smitha. “Silk had a great style and an unmatched dressing sense,” she said.
