Sizzler Sana Khan has opined that she never felt it was ‘normal’ for actresses to have sex with the producer to bag film offers.
“Though it’s a purely personal thing and is the concerned actress’ choice, I’m definitely not for it. At no stage of my career would I ever be forced to compromise on this aspect. I like to get offers based on what film-makers think I can do and not for any other reason,” says Sana.
Sana is now making a grand comeback with Oru Nadigaiyin Dairy, a film based on the late ‘item girl’ Silk Smitha’s life. Made as Climax in Malayalam, the film’s dubbed version is likely to be released simultaneously in Tamil as Oru Nadigaiyin Dairy. The audio-launch of the Tamil version was held at Chennai’s Prasad Labs on the other day. Sana found time out to speak to news persons on the sidelines of the event.
“The moment I signed up to play Silk on-screen, I watched her films on the Net and trained hard to get my body language similar to hers. Smitha’s death is shrouded by mystery and is a great loss to the film industry. Though I play Smitha in the film, in real life, I’d never attempt suicide like she did. I’m determined enough to fight it out and nothing and nobody can force met to take such extreme steps.
“I have also heard about actresses sleeping with the producer/director to get film offers. Though it’s purely an individual’s choice whether to do so or not I have never done so and would never attempt it in future too. I have been brought up in a way wherein I don’t compromise easily on anything,” she concluded. She added in a lighter vein that she was sure Silk’s spirit would not be angry on her for playing the role. “In fact, Silk’s spirit would only feel proud that I have done a neat job,” Sana said.
