Lakshmi Manchu’s Holy Dip with Buddies
In olden days, guys used to work as assistant directors and associates before finally becoming a director one day. But now, writers, cameramen, lyricists and actors are donning the cap. Everyone will have their own reason, but here is what Koratala Shiva is having.
Overwhelmed with the applause ‘Mirchi‘ is getting at Box Office, Shiva is on cloud nine at the moment. However, a journalist asked him why he became a director in the first place rather staying as a star-writer. Shiva’s reply stunned everyone. ‘In Telugu Film Industry there is no respect for writers. Especially few star directors never care for them.
To escape their torture, I became a director’, he said. Though someone stressed him to reveal the names of directors who tortured him, Shiva maintained poise.
But few film critics felt that writers are becoming directors for both getting star-image and huge money. A star-writer will be paid around 30-50 lakhs, but a director of that film takes a cool 2-4 crores home.
