‘Nagaraja Chola MLA’, the sequel to the hugely popular political satire ‘Amaidhipadai’ that rocked big-time in the early 1990s, is shaping up rather fast.
The film which brings together the extremely successful combination of Sathyaraj and veteran Goundamani, happens to be Sathyaraj’s 200th film and incidentally Manivannan’s 50th as a director.
The Sathyaraj–Goundamani combo sizzled in films like ‘Mamman Magal’, ‘Pudhu Manithan’ and ‘Vazhkaichakram’, to name a few.
Keeping in mind the two landmarks, the makers – V House Productions have plans to hold a gala function to release the audio of ‘Nagaraja Cholan MLA’ and also commemorate Sathyaraj’s 200th film appearance and Manivannan’s 50th venture as film-maker.
Also, the film is expected to be a comedy-based political satire on the lines of ‘Amaithipadai’ and features a host of actors and actresses.
The cast list includes Sathyaraj, Goundamani, Manivannnan, Raghu Manivannan, MS Baskar, Vaiyapuri, Mridula, Varsha, Hansiba and Krishnamurthy among others.
The producers Suresh Kamakshi and S Ravichandran said there were plans to hold a grand function at Chennai Trade Centre soon to mark the ‘three events’ – audio launch of ‘Nagaraja Cholan MLA’, Sathyaraj’s 200th film and Manivannan’s 50th (as director).
