Mandy Thakar plays a modern girl in Biriyani and the role she plays, which according to her is a “sexy and sensual” one, is unlike the real life Mandy Thakar.
This is the first Tamil film of the Brit-Punjabi lady, who has done a handful of homely and sweet girl-next-door characters in her Punjabi films.
She is both elated and nervous about having done a glamorous character in Biriyani – elated to have bagged a meaty role and nervous about the South Indian people’s reaction to her role.
She has also done a pole dance in the film and Karthi, after watching her act, supposedly praised Mandy saying that she was the best of all the pole dancers he has come across.
Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani goes like this…
Karthi and Pramji Amaran are childhood friends in Biriyani. To be specific, they have been together since kindergarten. The film is about the journey of these two friends and about how one of these twos’ actions affects the other one and the people around them.
Hansika Motwani plays the heroine and according to Venkat Prabhu, the pretty lasso has lost lots of weight for this film.
“We have also given Karthi a Casanova makeover”, brags Venkat Prabhu and claims that this is his first solo hero film. Biriyani is special for him because, it is his cousin, Yuvan Shankar Raja’s 100th musical.
