Actor Kamal Hassan met the Additional DGP (Law & Order) in Chennai to complain about the threats he had been receiving over the past few days. The star, in his complaint, alleged that he was being threatened for releasing Viswaroopam on the DTH prior to its theatrical release.
A certain section of the theatre owners and distributors are against this DTH release as it would hurt their business, it may be mentioned here.
Kamal Hassan also met the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary to discuss about this issue and the possible steps to be taken for his safety.
The police are working on this complaint.
Kamal Hassan threatened by Villains!
Actor Kamal Hassan has been facing a lot of trouble lately due to his decision of releasing “Vishwaroopam” on DTH and now, it seems like Kamal Hassan‘s decision has caused him personal problems too.
Actor Kamal Hassan received threatening warnings about his release and had been told that there would be pre planned power cuts during his premiere and also that whoever it was would make copies of Vishwaroopam and pirate it illegally. Terrified by this threat, the actor has filed a complaint against the unnamed villains and has asked for police protection during the release of the film in theaters.

Kamal Hassan’s plan to premiere Vishwaroopam on the DTH has drawn flak among the theatre owners in Tamil Nadu and it was decided that they would not screen the film in theatres as such a move would hurt their business.
But Kamal Hassan has made up his mind to go ahead with the plan and the bookings to watch this film on various DTH platforms are going on full swing with the premiere set to happen on January 10th, at 9:30 pm.
The latest news is that the popular Cineplex in Chennai, Devi Cineplex has allotted its main screen, Devi to screen Vishwaroopam. The announcement was made through a paper advertisement indicating that the film will make it to the theatres!
