Actress Khushboo Sundar may have a temple in her name but that doesn’t allow her access to disrespect the immortal gods worshiped by spiritual seekers over the years. Indian society is surely seeing a change in its tastes. Fashion erases the thin line between what is design and what is sacred.
As for the actress impressing others is the top agenda. Even if her six yard saree has bachelor Hanuman printed all over it. She maintains it is merely a design and nothing more. However these ideas certainly don’t appeal to those who are steeped in religion and worship their gods with utmost reverence.
The act of showcasing her personal liberty, at Vetadu Ventadu(Telugu version of Vishal & Trisha starrer Samar) audio release function in Hyderabad has once sucked the glamour queen into controversy. The DMK member sported a kalamkari sari endorsing Hanuman, Rama and Krishna. In no time The Hindu Makkal Katchi came forward in protest of the sacred deities.
The chief of the organization Arjun Sampath says: “It was an act of cheap publicity for personal gains she has used the Hindu Gods in exchange of fame. We are hurt and seek her apology even though she did not do it on purpose. It must be noted that she was involved in a similar case in 2007 disrespecting goddess Lakshmi.”
Meanwhile, Kushboo seems to be unperturbed about the repercussions and says the political party should have important agendas to concentrate on rather than following me everywhere. In response, Hindu Makkal Katchi has threatened to stage protest in case she denies accepting the charges. What will be her next move is yet to be seen.
