Actress Nayantara is going great guns blazing ever since her comeback to cinema and now to add to her delight, she has been awarded the Nandi Award, which is the highest award of excellence in Telugu cinema. These awards were instituted in 1964 and they have been a yearly feature ever since.
Nayantara is understandably over the moon at winning the Best Actress award. She got this award for having worked in Sri Ramarajyam, which was rumored to be her last film. Balakrishna was her co-star in this film.
This is her reaction at winning the Award
“Am really happy that I have got Nandi award which is the most prestigious award when it comes to Telugu cinema… Am grateful to god for giving me this opportunity to work in a film like “Sri Ramarajyam”…I would like to thank Balakrishna sir for convincing me to do the film, if not for him I wouldn’t have done this… and Bapu sir and Sri Sai Babu sir for having so much faith in me that I would do justice to the role of Sita Devi…
I would also like to thank Raju sir the cinematographer for presenting me so well on screen… I think am really blessed to have worked in a film like “Sri Ramarajyam”… It is one film which would always remain special to me and I would like to congratulate all the other winners too”
