“I never thought I could act in front of camera,” Taapsee God had wanted luck be an integral part of her fate Taapsee reveals her role in Ajith – Aarya starrer “Ajith is a thorough gentleman”
Pretty actress Taapsee, better known as the Vellaavi Ponnu among her Tamil fans, will be back to mesmerize the movie buffs here having signed up the Ajith–Aarya starrer to be directed Vishnuvardhan. Her very first outing in Tamil, Aadukalam went on to win six National awards and she has been successfully juggling her time between Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films. Here are the excerpts of an interview with this cheerful young lady.
Throw her question on how she made acting her career when she was software professional with some stint in modelling and Taapsee attributes it to fate. She says: “Fate. I never thought I could act in front of camera pretending to be someone else. But I guess the dramatic side of me made me choose this profession later on. I could neither see myself as a model nor doing a 9 to 5 job.”
Taapsee thanks luck for her successful stint in the film industry and added that God had wanted luck be an integral part of her fate. The actress also said that she would thank all those who had given her the first break and that she would be indebted to them always.
Speaking about her first Bollywood film Chashmee Baddoor, Taapsee said that the shooting is wrapped up and she has also completed the dubbing. The film is in the final stages of post-production and will be released on August 31st, she added. Taapsee is cloud nine that she is getting a great launch in Hindi as well just as she did in Tamil and Telugu. Well, that’s luck again!
Ask her about acting in more number of films in Tollywood when compared to one Malayalam film Doubles and two Tamil films Aadukalam and Vandhaan Vendraan till now and if Tollywood preferential, she states as a matter of fact: “They gave me bigger and better movies and roles to do so did more Telugu movies. Language is no barrier for me. It all depends on the movies and roles I’m offered.”
On bagging the Ajith and Aarya starrer, Taapsee says that she feels privileged to share the screen space with Ajith as he has a clean image and is “a thorough gentleman”. Taapsee also revealed that she plays a lively journo in the film.
On the outfits that she loves to wear, Taapsee says that she is a very casual person preferring casual cotton clothes. She also points out that there are no specific labels she prefers and shops according to her tastes and likes.
Well now that the actress has said that Tollywood offers her bigger and better films; will the filmmakers in Kollywood take note of it?
