When 7am Arivu was released, the producer Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies said the firm spent almost Rs80 crores for the product. But what amount exactly returned to the coffer was not known.
Mostly the amount involved in the deal counts a lot in the industry. Last week it was said Ajith’s Billa 2 was at the peak of collecting the rights amount for Malayalam and Telugu. Its audio rights too fetched a lumpsum amount to the producers.
Close on the heels of this, Surya’s Maatraan is on the fore for collecting huge amount. KV Anand seems to have designed the film in a manner that it coerces the previous best. Incidentally Ayan and Ko amassed a huge collection during pre-release. Now on the records, Maatraan is said to have collected nearly Rs50 crores from Eros Interntational who bought the rights.
In this regard, Maatraan may be listed under the most potential movie for this year along with Billa2 and Thuppaki. Meanwhile, the audio for this film is scheduled for release soon. Harris Jeyaraj has come out with lot of splendid numbers and remarked that KV Anand has sequenced the songs in six countries. In addition KV Anand is contemplating on the shots in Alaska. It is said Maatraan will wait till Billa 2 completes its energetic opening and run in the theatres.
