She doesn’t throw any starry tantrums despite being the daughter of a superstar. Lakshmi Manchu is in a zone of her own which is to work hard and earn appreciation from all quarters. Daughter of Mohanbabu, the Tollywood superstar and a close friend of superstar Rajnikanth, Lakshmi Manchu would be debuting as an actress in Tamil with ace director Mani ratnam’s Kadal which has Gautham Karthick and Samantha in lead roles.
Lakshmi Manchu is also producing a film in Tamil titled Marandhaen Mannithaen (MM) which stars Aadhi and Tapasee in lead roles. Young Lakshmi Manchu plays a significant role in this film as well. Tweeting on her social networking site, Lakshmi Manchu has sai that after completing MM, she would start another film with her younger brother and actor Manoj Manchu in the lead. This film would be directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja, she reveals.
The heroine to pair up opposite Manoj would be chosen at a latter date, says Lakshmi Manchu. She is also excited about the fact that Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has consented to score the music of MM. “I have been asked many times as to whether I’d continue to star in Tamil films after Kadal. Obviously, I love to star in more and more Tamil films as I love Tamil and the State a lot.
“I spend at least three months of an year in Chennai and am very much a part of Chennai and its rich and varied culture. In case I manage to get more film offers after Kadal, I shall consider myself a fortunate girl. In such a scenatio, I might even consider settling down permanently in Chennai,” says Lakshmi Manchu, who is a graduate from Chennai’s Stella Maris College.
She was also courageous enough to have debuted in Telugu films in a ‘negative’ role at such a young age in the film which was also Shruti Hassan’s debut film in Telugu as heroine.
