For once, Anushka can forget about her ‘height’ which has caused her considerable problems in pairing up opposite many leading heroes in Tamil and Telugu. Anushka has Aarya for company as hero in mercurial Selvaraghavan’s upcoming film titled Irandaam Ulagam which has been progressing rather smoothly. Anushka, as the stills released reveal, might now have to worry about the height factor.
The film was conceived a few years back when Selvaraghavan was on good terms with music director Yuvan Shankar Raja who even announced that he would be producing the film in his home banner of ‘White Elephants’. However, over the years, Selvaraghavan and Yuvan Shankar Raja developed ‘irreconcilable differences’ between them and moved away. As a result, Selvaraghavan’s films Aayirathil Oruvan and Mayakkam Enna had music not by Yuvan but by G.V Prakash Kumar.
Selvaa first wanted to cast Dhanush and then thought of signing up Rana Daggubati or Allu Arjun from Tollywood as the film’s hero and then finally zeroed in on Aarya, who has been having a highly successful stint in Tamil films in the past 3-4 years. After choosing GVP again as the music director, for some reasons, Selvaraghavan decided to replace him with Harris Jayaraj.
The film has all the makings of turning out to be a box-office success, says inside sources. The shooting is almost over, it is revealed. We only hope that the feel-good experience which strikes the viewers while watchint the recently-released still photographs of the film should get stuck with them even when they emerge from the cinema halls after watching the film in theatres as and when it is released!
