Udhayanidhi Stalin has produced and distributed many films in his more than 5-year long stint in Kollywood. Son of former deputy chief minister Stalin and grandson of the DMK chief Karunanidhi, Udhayanidhi is now exploring a hitherto untread land professionally: he is about to test his acting skills through the release of his first film as a hero in the form of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK).
Directed by Rajesh, OKOK is all set to thit the sceens on the eve of Tamil New Year which falls next Friday (13th April). Udhayanidhi has apparently chosen an ‘auspicious day’ to mark his debut in Tamil films as a hero and is hoping that the film does well at the box-office. Hottie Hansika Motwani, who has a few films up her sleeve in Tamil, is paired opposite Udhayanidhi in the film.
Rajesh, with back-to-back super-hit films such as Siva Manasula Sakthi and Baas Engira Baskaran to his credit, is hoping to score a hat-trick of hits with OKOK. The audio of the film, which was released some time back in the music of Harris Jayaraj, has already become a rage among youths. The presence of Santhanam, who plays the main comedian, has also aroused interest in the film.
OKOK was to release simultaneously with the Dhanush-starrer 3 which hit the screens last week. However, the astute Udhayanidhi who doubles up as the distributor in OKOK, has decided to postpone the release of the film by two weeks keeping in view the market trends and realities.
