Ajith to star in Tamil ‘Race’ remake?
One of actor Ajith’s many passions has been his interest in motor car racing. The actor, despite the many surgeries he had undergone in his back and the busy shooting schedules he has to manage, has been participating in various motor car races inside and outside the country from time to time.
His passion for wheels, though, had taken a heavy toll on his film career after the super-hit film Billa in 2007. Producers who wanted to sign up Ajith to star in their big-budget films started feeling apprehensive as they feared that Ajith was taking ‘too much risk’ for the sake of excitement. The fear factor meant that Ajith lost out on quite a few prestigious projects.
Ajith, who always does what he wants to do, continued to participate in those races and didn’t bother about spending in excess. It was only when Ajith realized that Vijay and Surya were making headways apparently due to his sustained absence from Kollywood that he decided to bring things under control by concentrating on his career.
Though he had taken a break from racing, Race doesn’t seem to go away from him as he has been approached to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood film titled Race. Vishnuvardhan, who might direct Ajith in this flick, is said to be making the necessary changes in the script so as to suit Tamil audiences and to cater to the needs and expectations of millions of Ajith’s fans.
Reports further say that former Tennis ace Ashok Amritraj, who has produced many English films, might make his entry in Tamil films as producer through the Ajith-starrer. Nayantara has been signed up to star in the film but it remains uncertain as to whether she would be paired up opposite Ajith or his co-star Aarya in the film.
Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is close to both Ajith and Vishnuvardhan, would be scoring the music of the film, which is yet to be titled.
