Young and upcoming actress Oviya is quite happy at the response to her latest release Marina. The film which has been directed by the national-award winning director Pandiraj, pits newcomer Sivakarthikeyan opposite Oviya, who debuted in films opposite Vimal in Sargunam’s Kalavaani more than an year ago.
Oviya, however, doesn’t see eye-to-eye with another promising and young actress Amala Paul. Amala Paul had a rather controversial start to her film career more than two years ago by starring in an almost ‘soft-porn’ film in director Sami’s Sindhu Samaveli but recovered soon enough to deliver hit films in Myna and Vettai. She also had a significant role to portray in last year’s critically-acclaimed Deiva thirumagal which had Vikram in the lead.
Whenever someone broaches the topic of ‘Amala Paul’ in front of her, Oviya gets tense and tells them not to tell her anything about Amala Paul. While it’s not clearly known as to what transpired between the two young actresses, it’s certain that Oviya doesn’t share any bond of ‘friendship’ with Amala Paul.
It’s not only Oviya; there are several actresses in Malayalm films who too hate Amala. They too seem to be reacting in the same manner at the mention of Amala Paul’s name. Amala Paul, though, appears to have a solitary friend in the form of Anushka who starred along with Amala Paul in Vikram’s Deiva thirumagal. The lanky Anushka has been a top Tamil and Telugu actress for the past few years.
Amala Paul and Anushka, who have become close pals ever since they shot together for the film Deiva thirumagal, are said to be in touch with each other through mobile and SMS. Whenever she gets a Telugu film offer which is not to her liking and if she felt that Amala would be better suited to that role, Anushka is said to be recommending Amala’s name for the same.
