Close on the heels of his success story with the Dewali release Velayudham, actor Vijay is all set to align with A.R Murugadoss, sources close to him reveal. Vijay has been having a fabulous year so far with back-to-back hits in Kavalan and Velayudham. In fact, 2011 has changed his personal and professional life in a drastic manner that he wouldn’t have expected at the beginning of the year that such a change would occur.
Kavalan broke the lean phase he had been having at the box-office for the past 3-4 years. The film released at a time when the then regime in the State did everything possible to stall the film’s release. Thankfully, the film turned out to be a hit and put Vijay back in the reckoning. Then followed offers from directors like Shankar, Gautham Menon, A.R Murugadoss and many leading production houses.
Post the success of Velayudham, Vijay is all set to commence work for the film to be directed by A.R Murugadoss. The film’s title is yet to be finalized and is likely to be produced by Vijay’s father and producer-director S.A Chandrasekaran. Heroine and other lead actors are still under consideration but what has been revealed is that the muhurat shot would be canned at the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Muruga’s temple at Tiruchendur.
As per the script, the story begins at Tiruchendur, moves to Mumbai and then finally concludes at Tiruchendur itself. Major portion of the film is likely to be shot in and around Mumbai. Vijay is likely to don the role of a dada similar to the one played by Kamal Hassan in Mani ratnam’s Nayakan.
The script necessitates twin heroines with Priyanka Chopra of Bollywood, who earlier starred opposite Vijay in Thamizhan, likely to be cast as one of the heroines. Priya Anand, who has starred in films like Vaamanan and Nootrenbadhu, could be roped in as the other heroine!
Vijay to romance Kajal Agarwal
A.R Murugadoss’s next film with Vijay has the pretty actress Kajal Agarwal as the heroine.
The shooting starts from December. It was said earlier that Sonam Kapoor may be the heroine but now Kajal Agarwal will be the heroine. AR Murugadoss has titled the film tentatively as Maalai Nerathu Mazhaithuli. Vijay’s dad director S.A Chandrashekar produces the film. Santosh Sivan does the film’s Cinematography.
A.R Murugadoss and Vijay get together for the first time for MNM. The film is an action entertainer with Mumbai as a backdrop and is scheduled for a summer 2012 release.
