Director A.R Murugadoss’ upcoming directorial venture 7am Arivu starring Surya and Shruti Hassan in lead roles has already become one of the most awaited films in recent times. The film, a period-flick which then ‘enters’ the modern era, has Surya in triple roles and also marks the debut of Shruti Hassan as heroine in Tamil films. The pretty daughter of actor Kamal Hassan is a bundle of talents and is a multi-tasker.
The film has been produced at a huge cost by Udhayanidhi Stalin on behalf of his Red Giant Movies. The film, which was recently watched by the Censor Board in Chennai, was cleared with an ‘U’ certificate after the Censors appreciated the director for making a ‘classic’ film appealing to all sections of the audience.
Trade circles say that the film’s music, which was launched some time back in Chennai, is selling like hot cakes. Surya’s triple roles, especially his role of the Buddhist Monk Bodhi Dharman in the film, have become one of the most talked-about topics across coffee-tables and restaurants and in Kollywood circles.
Shruti Hassan plays Subha Srinivisan, a young scientist in the film which also has the talented Abinaya (of Nadogigal fame) as one of Suriya’s two heroines. It is said that the Censors ‘cut down’ some controversial dialogues in the film. Udhayanidhi is planning a grand preview of the film over the weekend or early next week.
The whole of Kollywood is awaiting the premier of the film, which is said to be a ‘pioneer’ in films in more ways than one.
