It has been officially announced today that the mega-hit Tamil film Kanchana would be remade in Hindi. The thriller film, which starred Raghava Lawrence in the lead and a sequel to his earlier film Muni, has been running to packed houses all over the State and has recently crossed 50 days.
Talking about the remake, Salman Khan’s younger sibling Sohail Khan confirmed that Salman Khan’s next film would be the Hindi remake of Kanchana. The film would have story and screenplay by Raghava Lawrence himself and would be made in the 3-dimensional mode, he revealed.
In order to star in Kanchana’s Hindi remake, Salman Khan has put on hold another film titled Sher Khan. It may be noted that Salman Khan is presently undergoing treatment abroad for problems related to the movement of his jaw. The shooting of the Hindi remake of Kanchana would commence after Salman Khan completes his present assignment Ek Tha Tiger.
Sohail Khan said that they are planning to release the film on the eve of Ramzan next year. Ramzan has turned out to be quite a lucky festival for Salman Khan as all the films which were released on Ramzan for the past three years have turned out to be super-duper hits. It may be noted that Salman Khan had, in the past, starred in the Hindi remakes of Tamil films such as Kavalan and Pokkiri.
