Buoyed by the response from the public as well as his fans to his latest and landmark 50th film Mankatha, Ajith appears to have decided to dole out similar films in future. Ajith’s last couple of films in Aegan and Asal didn’t create any ripples at the box-office but it didn’t appear to have diminished the actor’s star value a single bit, as witnessed by the enthusiastic response to the film Mankatha.
Now that Mankatha has been declared a hit, many of Ajith’s favourite directrors appear to be queuing up outsides the actor’s residence to sign him up for their future projects. The trio of Vishnuvardhan, Vijay (who directed him in Kireedom) and Venkat prabhu appear to be in contention to direct Ajith’s next film. In a recent interview to a leading English daily, Ajith is said to have told that he would be doing films for the above-said trio in the same order.
Rumours now say that Ajith’s next film after Billa-2 might be produced by A.M Rathnam’s Surya Movies and would be directed by Venkat prabhu. The surprise package in the film is that Simbu, a self-proclaimed fan of Ajith, would get to pair up alongside his idol. It is said that the film, which is to be a big-budget project, would be co-produced by a Mumbai-based corporate firm.
Ratnam, when contacted, said that he could neither confirm nor deny anything at this stage but conceded that talks are on with Ajith and others about making a film. He also assured that his Suriya Movies has come out of its lull period and would continue to make films non-stop in future.
