Despite possessing reasonable acting credentials, a very pretty face and an hourglass figure along with amazing dancing skills, Shriya Saran finds herself out of work in Tamil. Ufortunately, her latest Tamil film Rowthiram didn’t do exceptionally at the box-office. It was the film she was hoping to revive her sagging fortunes in Kollywood.
She has, however, some good news on the Malayalam front where she would soon be debuting as heroine with a film titled ‘Hero’. Some time back, it was reported that she was packing lock, stock and barrel from Chennai as she had no Tamil film projects on hand; it is now hoped that this Malayalm film offer might change her heart and make her continue to remain in Chennai.
The actress turned a year older a couple of days ago and celebrated her birthday at her posh house in Mumbai. When asked whether the birthday party was held in a five-star hotel, Shriya Saran shot back saying that she wasn’t a ‘party animal’. “I am not the kind who opt for cocktail parties, discotheque and parties at farm-houses,” she said.
“I do celebrate my birthday every year along with my parents and family. I met some old friends and took part in shooting but celebrating the day by throwing a lavish party at a five-star hotel isn’t my idea of celebration. After all, it’s just another day,” says Shriya Saran philosophically.
She is also said to be in talks to star alongside Vikram in a new film and for an ‘item’ song in Simbu’s upcoming film Osthi.
Shriya Saran to go Nude for a Bengali film
We all admired Shriya Saran’s lean body beauty opposite Superstar in Sivaji. Her physique has some charm and magnetic pull for romance. In all these years, she has acted in many films and two years ago she was at the center of controversy. When she attended a film fare function she was found sitting in a scenic posture in front of the then Tamilnadu CM Karunanidhi. She was strongly criticized for her behavior and that too with languid costume.
Now she is again at the same sort of controversy as she is taking up a role in a Bengali film. The film is directed by Rituporno Ghosh portraying the plight of paid prostitutes. He seemed to have insisted Shriya to go nude but she was hesitant. After his convincing words about the storyline, she accepted the scene and does it.
However, the director assured her the scene will be taken into filming without marring her image and status. Moreover, he apprised her, the scene would fetch her some credit in her career prospects. What would happen to this cute lady from Mumbai would be known soon. Hey boys, awake from dreams
