Surya’s relative Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green releasing Mankatha
It’s official now. KE Gnanavel Raja‘s Studio Green has acquired the rights of ‘Mankatha‘ from Dhayanidhi Alagiri‘s Cloud Nine Movies and will ‘proudly release’ the film all over Tamil Nadu in a big way.
Known for producing movies starring Surya & Karthi in the past, KE Gnanavel Raja is a close relative of the Sivakumars. He is happy that his company has acquired the prestigious ‘Mankatha‘, which is the 50th film of ‘Thala’ Ajith.
Meanwhile, the movie will be viewed by officials from the Board of Film Certification (Censor Board) today. After their certification, it will hit the screens very soon, most probably on August 31.
“The film will be a treat to Thala fans,” Venkat Prabhu says.
Mankatha Wins the Appreciation of the Censor Board Members
Finally the cat is out of the bag. Mankatha which is Ajith’s 50th film has been directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film with a huge star cast was sent to Censor Board for certification. Members who saw the film muted certain scenes and sounds and awarded a U/A certificate. Apart from this, it is learnt that the Board members were overjoyed and congratulated the director Venkat Prabhu for directing a good entertaining film. The film is being released worldwide on 31st August. The film was actually produced under the banner Cloud Nine Movies but the production house has sold its rights to another leading distributors.
KE Gnanavel Raja is releasing this film in Tamil Nadu under the Studio Green banner while the overseas rights have been acquired by Ayangaran International.
Mankatha gets U/A
It is now a solution that is worked out to release the film Mankatha without any hassles. Earlier the posters were torn down in Madurai by the Police themselves. Dhayanidhi Alagiri probably had worked out a solution to release the film on time.
Since it would not augur well for the movie to release it under his banner Cloud Nine Movies, he has sold the movie to Studio Green who would take it further towards the release of the film. KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green has produced and released all of Suriya’s and Karthi’s films, since he was their relative. Interestingly Gnanavel’s Raja’s one of the earlier films “Naan Mahaan Alla” was brought and distributed by Cloud Nine Movies during previous DMK regime.
Meanwhile Mankatha cleared the Censor today and got U/A Certificate without any cuts. With these sudden and new developments, Mankatha release is now almost certain on 31st of August. Studio Green will proudly present Mankatha for Ajith’s fans and the Thala fans can now gear up to watch Mankatha First Day First Show.
