Superstar Rajnikanth has named his upcoming film as ‘Raana’ after his late father Ranoji Rao. The film, set in a period-type set-up, would star Rajnikanth in triple roles and would have Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone pairing up opposite superstar Rajnikanth in one his triple roles. Tollywood’s Ileana and Bollywood’s award-winning actress Tabu are said to be the other two heroines.
Rajnikanth’s friends and relatives are reportedly telling him to change the title of the film. The film, directed by K.S. Ravikumar, was launched on 29th April and saw Rajnikanth falling ill on the same evening. After months of treatment and recovery, Rajnikanth is now back to his normal health and is all set to re-start the film’s shooting from the first week of October.
The film has music by A.R Rahman. Rajnikanth is said to be against the idea of changingthe title as it resembles his father’s name. However, it has been driven home to Rajnikanth that the name ‘Raana’ has already proved unlucky as Rajnikanth fell ill and had to be hospitalized on the very day the shooting started in Chennai.
Rajnikanth’s well-wishers pointed out to him the difficulties he faced in the making of ‘Baba’, another 2-letter word in Tamil, and have advised him to change the title of ‘Raana’ which has caused enough problems to him already. They have suggested the new title to be either a 5-letter word or a 6-letter word in pure Tamil. Rajnikanth, who has reluctantly agreed to doing the same, has reportedly said that the change can be done later and not now.
