Anuya debuted as heroine Rajesh’s ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ more than two years ago. The film, which had Jeeva as her hero, did very well at the box-office. She followed it up with a cop’s role ‘Madurai Sambavam’ opposite Harikumar. Then she did another film opposite Sundar C. After some lull in her career, she is now back with Shankar’s ‘Nanban’.
A remake of the Bollywood hit film ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Nanban’ has Vijay, Srikanth, Jeeva, S.J. Suryah, Ileana and Anuya playing lead roles. Speaking about her role in the film, Anuya begs to differ with the notion that when a heroine plays a sister’s role, it would obviously mean she’s out of reckoning for the heroine’s role in other films.
“I’m getting plenty of offers to play heroine in many films but am not agreeing to all those offers. I take everything as it comes and don’t plan my career. I strongly feel that we can’t change God’s plans and have to abide by it. I’m quite comfortable with my role in the film and am confident that the film would do very well,” says Anuya.
The actress was recently offered a film opposite a newcomer. Anuya reportedly told the producer that she was ready to pair up with anyone but her fee to star in the film would have to be Rs.30 lakhs and nothing less than that. She is said to have added that she needed the payment in a single instalment. On his part, the producer is said to be demanding that he would pay the amount if the actress was ready to ‘reduce’ not her fee but her ‘clothes’ in the film!
