If the erstwhile regime in Tamil Nadu went out of its way to please and patronize film personalities as its leader was at the forefront of attending almost all film-related functions, the present set-up in the State appears to be willing to deviate from the beaten track.
A team of office-bearers of FEFSI, an organization which has many film associations affiliated to it, is said to have met Jayalalitha recently and requested her to ‘allot time’ to enable them to organize a function on behalf of the entire film fraternity to honour her on winning the recent elections and becoming the chief minister of the State.
Amma, who has impressed the electorate, public and the press in a short span of time by her welfare measures as well as by her style of administration, is said to have flatly refused to attend such a function citing that she had a ‘lot of work to take car of’ which would have a bearing on the welfare of the people. She also reportedly made it clear that she didn’t intend attending film-related functions.
CM‘s refusal to attend the function is seen as a clear indicator that she’s determined not to commit the ‘mistakes’ of the previous regime and instead concentrate in running the State as a ‘model State’ in the country!
