Filmmaker Vijay has been a vivid inspirer of foreign and Hollywood flicks and loosely adapts it to the tastes of Tamil audiences. His debut directorial ‘Kireedom’ was a remake of National award winning Malayalam movie with the same while ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ was remade as ‘Poi Solla Porom’. His magnum opus ‘Madharasapattinam’ turned to be his trademark with a slight trace of ‘Titanic’, ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Gladiator’. This time, he is back with a source of inspiration from Hollywood’s classic flick ‘I am Sam’ that featured academy award winner Sean Penn as a person with underdeveloped mind.
Vikram’s performance in teaser gave a clear light of perception on his imitation of Sean Penn’s ‘I am Sam’ and Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Paa’. Nevertheless, it’s an outstanding performance that any actor might have not spelled such an overpowering show except Vikram. The makers of ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ are sure as shooting stars that Vikram will fetch ‘National Awards’.
Shedding light on this film, director Vijay says, “The film revolves around the world of a person endowed with a special gift of possessing a child’s mind that doesn’t carry evils like lust, frustration, jealousy, etc… For the first time, Anushka will appear with a different shade and will gain incredible appreciations and accolades. But I cannot reveal anything on the roles of Anushka Shetty & Amala Paul.”
Moreover, Santhanam seems to have got a prominent role as his kind of character isn’t just about tickling your funny bones, but soak your eyes in tears. Nasser, M.S. Bhaskar, Y.Gee. Mahendran, Sara, ‘Black’ Pandi, Sachin Khedelkar (who played negative character in ‘Yaavarum Nalam’) and others are playing important characters.
Having streaked with abundant success in ‘Kireedom’ and ‘Madharasapattinam, G.V Prakash comes together with Vijay. ‘It’s a new level of music from our collaboration’ quotes director Vijay.
