The French government, through its Embassy in Chennai, had arranged for a specialfunction to honour leading members of the Kollywood film industry for having heldschedules of the shooting of their respective films in France.
France has decided to encourage and lend all possible assistance to film-makers from the Sub-continent who plan the shooting schedules of their films in that country. As part of the initiative, the French Embassy in Chennai had arranged for a special function to honour and appreciate those who had already shot for their films in France.
The function was held at Hotel Connemara and was attended among others by Kamal Hassan, directors K.S Ravikumar and Saran and actor Yugi Sethu. K.S Ravikumar had shot considerable portions of his last flick ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ starring Kamal and Trisha in France while Saran’s last film ‘Asal’ had also many sequence shot in exotic locales in France.
Prabhu Deva, who shot the entire shoot of his upcoming film ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ (starring ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and Hansika Motwani) in France, was also among the invitees but couldn’t make it to the function. Ravi, Hansika, Ajith and Trisha too were conspicuous by their absence at the event. Embassy officials and veteran actress Vyjayanthimala Bali and actor Nasser took part in the function.
