Continuing their 29 years of noble charity, Sivakumar Charitable Trust on Saturday distributed scholarship to the tune of Rs. Three lakhs to the toppers of the Plus Two and Tenth standard government examinations.
The Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust was initiated by actor Sivakumar in the year 1979 and inagurated by late CM MGR. Every year the trust has been giving financial assistance to deserving meritorious student. The trust was founded in May 1979 during a function held to mark Sivakumar’s 100th film Rosappoo Ravikkaikari.
Actor Surya on the behalf of Agaram Foundations also donated certain sum of amount for the students who are undergoing higher studies like IAS training and medicine. He also uttered that talks are going on with Government to start off with free tuition centers all throughout the State of Tamil Nadu. Also he added that around Rs. 25Lakhs will be spent for the good education of poor students who are really talented and intelligent.
As per the past years, Surya also participated in the function and his sister Brinda sang the prayer song and started the function.
