Actress Shriya Saran has, of late, been spotted more at public event of significance than at film shooting. The actress, who is one of the few educated and competent actresses, has been delivering lectures on management at some of the country’s premier institutions like IIM, Pune and IIT-Madras, Chennai.
She recently inaugurated her own spa in Mumbai where she has reportedly hired the services of female employees who are deaf and dumb. Shriya’s concern for the differently abled is quite appreciable indeed. As reported earlier, the actress is a fitness freak who indulges in religious activities more than often any of her contemporary actresses.
She considers the popular Jaggi Vasudev, based in Velliyangiri Hills, as her spiritual guru. The actress, who possesses an enviable hour-glass figure, spends quite a few hours of her daily routine in yoga and meditation. Of late, she has also been indulging in helping socially downtrodden groups.
The change, according to her, occurred a few weeks back when she came across a blind couple who besides taking care of themselves did indulge in helping others too. “When they could think of helping others, why can’t I do the same, I asked my conscience. I did some soul-searching and as a result, I have started doing some socially relevant activities now,” confesses Shriya, who recently inaugurated an organization through which she provides employment opportunities for visually handicapped persons.
A great thought indeed!
