Shruti Haasan, the lovely-looking daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, turned 24. The girl had an unexpected birthday gift from Bollywood as one of her second Hindi film, directed by Madhu Bhandarkar, hit the screens today. The mightily talented Shruti Haasan is slightly disappointed that her Telugu film opposite Siddharth, which released a fortnight back, isn’t doing that well at the box-office.
She is presently starring in her first-ever Tamil film as heroine in ‘7amArivu’ opposite Surya. The film is directed by the diminutive A.R Murugadoss, the man who gave Suriya the biggest hit of his career in ‘Ghajini’ and put him on the road to super stardom.
Shruti is over-awed by the release of Madhur-directed Hindi film, whose release coincided with her birthday. “I never expected that I’d be getting such a valuable gift on my birthday. Though I have played a ‘guest role’ in the film and not the heroin’es role, it’s a powerful character and I enjoyed doing it,” says Shruti with her characteristic smile.
She celebrated her birthday during the shooting of ‘7am Arivu’ and was wished by Surya, Murugadoss and others. Later in the day, she had a quiet dinner with family, friends and close relatives at her residence. Shruti flew to Mumbai early this week and got the blessings of her mother Sarika, the estranged (second) wife of Kamal Haasan.
Shruti banks heavily on Murugadoss’ film and says that it would give a ‘never-before’ experience to the viewers. Let’s wish the lovely lass a belated happy birthday!
