Kollywood is abuzz with rumours that actor Vijay, whose father and director-producer S.A. Chandrasekaran met AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence, might soon float his own political outfit and express his support to Opposition leader J. Jayalaithaa in the ensuing Assembly elections in the State, slated for the first half of next year.
SAC is said to have told the AIADMK supremo in detail about the various ‘professional hazards’ that have been put in the path of his son’s progress in the industry. On her part, the dynamic leader is said to have assured him of all possible help at any time. SAC reportedly told her that his son would soon be launching his own political outfit and that it would be launched before Pongal next month.
Vijay is said to be under pressure from his fans to launch a political outfit and then align his party with the AIADMK in the coming elections. The star is said to have given his ‘nod’ to the idea of the fans. Reports emanating from Kollywood say that Vijay’s exit from Shankar’s next venture ‘3 Idiots’ was also ‘prompted’ by a political bigwig who is close to those in the corridors of power.
Vijay was reportedly shocked by the way he was ‘axed’ from the film and his close aides have ‘warned’ him of many more troubles in future in case he were to go ahead by his earlier decision to float a political outfit. Apparently upset at all these developments, Vijay took off to U.S.A., though the reason given was that he had been there to ‘promote’ his upcoming film Kaavalan opposite Asin.
SAC, who was initially against his son aligning with AIADMK, had a change of mind and is now reportedly toeing Vijay’s line.
