Not so unexpectedly, the films ‘Nandalala’ and ‘Kanimozhi’ have bitten the dust at the box-office, mainly because the respective directors didn’t have the aim to entertain the public in mind while making these movies and instead they chose to satisfy their own desires and aspirations which has boomeranged on them.
In ‘B’ & ‘C’ centres, ‘Nandalala’ couldn’t even sustain for more than a couple of days; the talk in the industry is that even in urban areas, the film may not last upto more than a couple of weeks. More than three new films are releasing today which would mean that the film would be taken off from some more halls.
‘Nandalala’, though, managed to earn critical acclaim from the press, movie-goers and those who love pure cinema.
The fate of ‘Kanimozhi’ has become more miserable as the film neither received good reviews from any journal nor is running to packed houses. In fact, the film has met with less than warm response with halls reporting nil to sparse audiences even from the second day.
Sona, the sexy producer of the film, would do well to attempt producing another film with some substance in it. She now hopes that at least her next home production titled ‘2010 Bhagyaraj’ and starring Premji Amaren in the lead will reverse the trend!
