Anakha a.k.a. Amala Paul, who has delivered a stunning performance in the successful ‘Mynaa’ after her controversial outing in her earlier film ‘Sindhu Samaveli’, is in a high nowadays. Even before ‘Mynaa’, which has been appreciated by the critics and movie-goers for its treatment, could complete 50 days of its run at the box-office, she has landed a couple of major projects in her kitty.
The Kerala-born Amala has hit big time with the Prabhu Solomon-directed ‘Mynaa’, which has caught the imagination of the public in a big way. Thanks to the film’s success, Amala has already been signed up to play the heroine in ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s next film ‘Deiva Magan’ being directed by ‘Madarasapattinam’ fame Vijay.
Producers and directors are said to be knocking the doors of this talented actress in quick succession. Recent reports emanating from Kollywood say that Amala has also bagged the offer to play Aarya’s heroine in the actor’s next film ‘Vettai’, which would be directed by Lingusamy after his successful ‘Paiyaah’ early this year.
Amala, who shares her first name with another popular and beautiful heroine Amala (who later got married to Telugu superstar Nagarjuna) who starred in many Tamil films in the eighties, is also said to have been approached to play lead roles in films starring Dhanush and Simbu in their upcoming films. Though she’s been getting many offers from her native Mollywood as well, Amala has decided to concentrate only in Tamil films for the time being.
Sources close to the actress, who has a pair of expressive eyes, say that Amala has decided to henceforth give call-sheets only to film starring frontline actors as heroes. She is also said to have raised her fee multifold, with unconfirmed reports pointing out that she is demanding (and getting) Rs.50 lakhs per film!
