Aindhu Kovilan, an assistant of director Bharathiraja, has launched a new film named ‘Kalingathu Bharani’ with ‘Pasanga’ and ‘Kalavaani’ fame Vimal in the lead. Ever since the launch of the film was announced, the hero and the director have been at loggerheads with each other.
Suddenly, Vimal refused to take part in the shooting over ‘dispute’ in his fee. When he was signed up long time back, he had agreed to do the film for Rs.6 lakhs. Now that his two films, ‘Pasanga’ and ‘Kalavaani’ have become super-hit movies, Vimal is said to be wanting a ten fold increase in the fee earlier agreed to; he now wants Rs.60 lakhs to star in the film.
The director and producer somehow tried to bring down Vimal’s exorbitant expectation but the latter wouldn’t relent. The issue was taken up with both Nadigar Sangam and the Tamil Film Producers’ Council. Both the bodies made the director and the hero sit face-to-face with each other and initiated negotiations. Finally, Vimal agreed for a fee of Rs.20 lakhs.
The shooting is all set to commence in Kanniyakumari from 20th October onwards.
