It’s common knowledge that there might not be a ‘premier’ show to superstar Rajini’s upcoming film ‘Enthiran: The Robot’. The film that has caused unprecedented excitement, curiosity and expectation among cine-goers is gearing up for a grand release worldwide this Friday (1st October) in over 3,000 movie halls.
Sun Pictures usually doesn’t encourage ‘premiering’ of films (even for journos) produced and distributed by it. More often than not, it doesn’t bother talking about ‘special’ shows or ‘premier’ shows. Vishal, when his ‘Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai’ was released by Sun Pictures early this year, pleaded with it in vain to arrange a special show for presspersons.
The trend has continued in Sun Pictures, irrespective of the hero of the film produced/distributed by it. It has almost become a ‘policy decision’ on the part of Sun Pictures not to ‘let the new film’ be shown to the hero’s family or friends or friends.
However, with Rajini, Sun Pictures had to remain flexible as he enjoys unlimited clout with almost all the producers, directors, financiers and distributors. When Rajini said that he wanted a copy of the ‘print’ of the film to arrange for a special screening, Sun Pictures agreed to his request with a pre-condition that the film shouldn’t be screened much prior to its actual theatrical release.
So, the ‘special screening’ has now been slated for the night of 1st October, the date of the film’s world premiere!
